Automotive bonding, trim and masking tape
Full-acrylic foam tape for trim and mounting, double-sided tape for badges and nameplates, and high-temperature masking for paint and powder-coat lines. Supplied from Toronto to OEM suppliers, upfitters, body shops and manufacturers across Canada.
What this page covers
Vehicle work puts tape under vibration, weather and heat at the same time. The right choice depends on the joint: an exterior trim bond needs a full-acrylic foam core, a badge or nameplate needs a thin, strong double-sided film, and a paint or coating line needs masking that survives the oven and peels clean. ETS supplies all three, cut to the width or shape your line uses.
Where these tapes are used
- Exterior trim, mouldings and auto glass mounting (acrylic foam)
- Badges, emblems, nameplates and signage bonding
- Panel, frame and electronic component sealing (PE foam)
- Masking through paint-spray, powder-coat and cure ovens (see the masking guide)
- HVAC duct sealing, pipe wrap and shielding (aluminum foil tape)
- Die-cut gaskets, pads and adhesive parts for repeat assemblies

Foam core, film carrier or transfer?
Acrylic foam fills gaps, absorbs vibration and handles exterior trim loads. PE foam seals and cushions at lower cost where loads are light.
PET or PVC film carriers give a thin, strong bond line for badges, nameplates and trim on flat or textured surfaces. Transfer tape (no carrier) bonds flush on metal parts and displays.
Match the carrier to the gap and the load, not just to how sticky it feels. Tell us the substrates and we will confirm the grade.
Frequently asked questions
Can acrylic foam tape replace screws or clips on trim?
On many trim, moulding and emblem jobs, yes: the full-acrylic core spreads the load and absorbs vibration. Surface preparation and dwell time matter, so tell us the substrates and we will confirm the grade and send the datasheet.
Which double-sided tape works on textured or irregular surfaces?
Our PVC double-side tape (AHS-522x), commonly compared with Tesa 4970, is the conformable option for irregular and textured surfaces. For flat nameplates and gaskets, PET double-side tape (AHS-51xx) is the cleaner choice.
Do you have masking that survives a paint or powder-coat oven?
Yes. High-temperature PET tape (AHS-940x, 180°C continuous and 220°C short-term) and premium crepe (AHS-31xx, 250°C continuous) are covered in our powder coat masking guide.
Can you slit or die-cut to our line's exact format?
Yes. Custom widths, roll lengths and die-cut parts are quoted per job. Send a drawing (PDF or DXF) or a sample part.
