What this page covers

ETS supplies two industrial PTFE constructions: PTFE film for dielectric insulation and chemical resistance, and PTFE-coated glass cloth tape for the hot, non-stick surfaces on packaging and laminating equipment.

This is not plumber’s thread-seal tape. If you are wrapping the sealing bar of a bag or pouch sealer, lining a laminator, or insulating a part that sees sustained heat, you are in the right place.

Not sure which one you need? Tell us the bar width, process temperature and what is being sealed, and we will recommend a construction.

Where PTFE tape is used

  • Covering the sealing bars and jaws on bag, pouch and film sealers
  • Release surfaces on laminating lines and hot platens
  • Non-stick wrap on rollers and guides that see sustained heat
  • Dielectric insulation of parts and conductor wrap (PTFE film)
  • Chemical-resistant liners where adhesives and resins would stick

PTFE film or PTFE-coated glass cloth?

Coated glass cloth is reinforced, so it stays dimensionally stable on a hot bar and gives a smooth, reusable non-stick face. It is the usual choice for heat-sealing and laminating.

PTFE film is the choice when electrical properties matter — insulation, conductor wrap — or when you need a thin, conformable chemical-resistant layer.

Frequently asked questions

What temperature can your PTFE tape handle?

Both PTFE film (AHS-95xx) and PTFE-coated glass cloth tape (AHS-96xx) are rated 260°C continuous and 300°C short-term. Confirm the adhesive and construction against the datasheet for your process.

Is this the same as plumber’s PTFE tape?

No. Plumber’s tape is a thin unbacked thread-seal tape. ETS supplies industrial PTFE film and PTFE-coated glass cloth for hot, non-stick and dielectric applications.

Can you supply custom widths and lengths?

Yes. Custom slitting to non-standard widths and roll lengths is available — send us your sealer bar or roller dimensions and we will quote it.

Do you ship across Canada?

Yes. We ship across the GTA and Canada. Lead time depends on size and quantity and is confirmed in your quote.
